Differences in Mortality Rates of Gunshot Victims: The Influence of Neighborhood Social Processes

Firearm violence is considered a public health crisis in the United States. spatially concentrates within neighborhoods and associated with community factors; however, little understood about geographic differences gunshot wound mortality neighborhood social processes. Applying approach through Haddon’s Matrix, results demonstrate systematic physical features mortality. These findings have important implications to improve conditions, police transporting victims, police-public partnerships data collection on nonfatal shootings shots fired.
